Pen Pal doc

Let me know what you guys think of what I typed up in the google doc that Annie started for us.

Google Maps for Virtual Pen Pals

This map will be used to see how far away West Moors Middle School is from Lyndon Grove and how long it would take to get there. The students would use this too zoom in and see what kind of surroundings are in the area and compare it to their own surroundings. If needed they could also use this to see how close the nearest hardware store is located that their pen pal may be using to get their materials.

Assignment 4

So our next assignment looks to be pretty hefty, and is due February 5th by 11:59pm. It looks like we need to write up a detailed description for an assignment of our choice relating to our PBL topic that demonstrates cultural understanding and global awareness. We could do something like different birds in different cultures/regions and how that may effect the birdhouse style/size. If you have any ideas let me know! Or the differences in birdhouse, do they have them at all in some places if they do what do they look like compared to other regions.

Revised Concept Map

Hey guys, so I don't know if this is any closer to what she wants but I made a few additions as well as taking a few things out. Hopefully this is better suited for what she is looking for! If you have any suggestions for what we can add of if she emails you back, let me know.

Website Evaluations

For our website evaluations - since we each need three different sites, we could each find three sites dealing with a separate topic of our project.  For example, one of us could find websites with different plans for children, another could find websites that help children learn how to use tools safely?  Not sure about the third person.

Future Projects

Hello all!

I received an email from Prof. Peterson (assuming you got a copy as well?) Went to open comments to anyone and saw one of you already switched that setting, so thanks.  As far as the open house thing, I'm not sure what is expected for that.  I sent her an email and still waiting back on final answers.  What she did say was this - we're not going to be completing a birdhouse/feeder, but just planning everything.  Updates to come.
 Hey guys so I think I was wrong about my last post. I believe what we need to do is go into module three click on the instructions for web evaluations and then we each individually go to the website she provided and review it and then send her an email based on what we thought. Again done individually I think. Then as a group we need to decide what type of websites we want/need for our project (building) and then each find three different websites and then fill out the evaluation form, also in module three, individually and then hand them in individually. So we just need to make sure that the three of us pick different websites.

Hey guys, just posted the concept map! The next step is the web evaluations, we have to do those together and email the same copy to our prof individually in order to get a grade. If we email different copies she will not accept them. That is due on January 29.

Concept Map

I have looked over the concept map websites and chosen the free, online one called Bubble.  The web address is bubbl.us, and I created the beginning of a concept map.  I'll share it with your gmail accounts so each of you can edit it.

You'll have to register for Bubble's website, but choose the free option as it offers all the tools we need.

Alright guys so we should be up and running now with the blog. I went in and made you both admins, does anyone have any idea on what we should make the focus (how we want to go about it I guess) for our project? It seems that in order to do the concept map we need to know that part.
